museum "im Türmchen"
The citizens of Bad Salzungen affectionately call the more than 500 year old half-timbered building in the Allendorf district the "Türmchen" (which means "little tower“). Its name comes from the small ridge turret mounted in 1611, which contains a tower clock and a bell.
The history of the transmission of information runs through the exhibition as a central theme. A special treasure are the historical letterpress machines, some of which can be experienced in operation.
From the Salzungen-based dialect poet and collector of legends Ludwig Wucke, the small exhibition ranges from school stories from 100 years to radio and radio sets.

BOOKmakers in the museum
Every 2 weeks, the old printing presses come to life again.
The museum invented, typeset and printed: the bookmakers of the Wartburgkreis e.V. children's and youth art school invented stories and played with words. In addition they draw and print illustrations and at the end they produce stapled or bound books.
Children and adolescents from 7 to 14 years can register.
The course takes place every second Wednesday from 16 to 18 o'clock and costs 15 euro in the month.
