Mayor

Since the 1st of July 2006, Klaus Bohl (Free Voters) has been the mayor of the city of Bad Salzungen.

The term of office is six years. Mr Bohl was confirmed in office for a further six years on the 15th of April 2018. The results of the 2018 mayoral election can be found here.

1st Honorary deputy is Erhardt Zuhr.

2nd Honorary deputy is Ralf Tonndorf.

City Council

The city council consists of 24 members and the mayor. The members of the City Council were elected on the 25th of May 2014. Their term of office is five years. The results of the election to the City Council on the 25th of May 2014 can be found here.

Elka Rödl is the Chairwoman of the City Council.
