Kaltenborn

Kaltenborn extends - about three kilometres away from Bad Salzung's city centre - over an area of about 372 hectares. The Wildprechtroda district is about one kilometre away, and the Langenfeld district is about 500 metres away. Kaltenborn was incorporated after Bad Salzungen in 1974.

In the northern part of Kaltenborn lie the so-called "Sorghöfe". These are divided into the Obersorghof, the Untersorghof and the buildings around the courtyards. To the south of Kaltenborn is the Pleßwald, which forms the southern edge of the Werratal.

Kaltenborn was the first district of Bad Salzungen which became part of the village renewal. In the 1990s, for example, a community center and a sports home were built with the help of the residents. In 2018, it was extended by a fire station.

The district got an active fire brigade with large youth participation and a fire brigade association.
