Frauensee
On the 6th of July 2018, Frauensee was incorporated into the town of Bad Salzungen. The Frauensee district includes Frauensee, the village of Springen and the small settlements of Knottenhof, Möllersgrund and Schergeshof.
A walk through the village
Frauensee is nestled in green forests and meadows in a side valley of the Werra between the Thuringian Forest and the Rhön. Enjoy a relaxing stroll through the town centre with its historic half-timbered houses and the castle with its former monastery.
On warm days, the Frauensee lake offers the opportunity to swim and cool off, or invites you to a fun boat trip.
The nature reserve Dolinenhänge is located northwest of the village and covers an area of 75.25 hectares.
Active club life
Frauensee has a large number of associations, including the Natur- und Heimatverein Frauensee e. V., the Kirchenchor Frauensee, the Sportverein SV 1930 Frauensee, the Jagdgenossenschaft Hallalli Frauensee and the Feuerwehrverein Frauensee e. V..
A traditional fair takes place in Frauensee every year. This is organised by the young people of the community and takes place in the hall belonging to the restaurant "Zum goldenen Stern".
